Backlighting

In this photo to the left, it's a photo of a leaf! I like it because it looks like it is falling! I actually picked it up and held it in front of the sun. This image is a backlighting photo because the sun is behind lighting the main subject of the leaf! I love the sharpness of the leaf.

This photo (on the bottom) is the lake condo my family and the Godbey's went to stay at over Fall Break. You can see the light shining really brightly on the tree and condo! I like how you can barely see the pretty colors of the leaves on the top of the tree, while the sun is shining on them. You can also see the condo to the right and the clouds in the beautiful blue sky!
I took this photo around 11:30! When  I took this picture I was walking out to the dock and I saw the sun shining vibrantly in front of me, then I remembered my backlighting assignment so I turned around and I saw how the condo was dark because the sun was shining behind it, so I walked down a little more so I could get the tree and condo in it together! The first thing that caught my eye was the different variations of color in the dark part of the picture, like the color of the leaves, and the grass on the hill at the bottom!
This picture is a backlighting photo because the sun is shining behind the subject (making the subject darker).  This image is also a Rule of Thirds Photo because the focus is not in the center of the picture.

This photo to the left is of my little brother Bryce. We were outside playing, when I had the idea of taking a picture of backlighting with him! So i told him to lay down on the grass, and the sun was shining behind him making Bryce darker. Then he put his hands on his face and made a cheesy face without me even telling him!! :)
