In these photos, I think each person is reflecting their character. Some of these pictures have window lighting, making the pictures more dramatic. I pretty much told each person to pose how they were in the picture, and I think each person reflected their personality through the pose i gave them.
When I took these pictures, some were taken outside, and some were taken inside by the window for better lighting. I wanted their attitudes to come through the pictures. I really liked all the lighting in the photos. I wanted to get the different angles so it would be more interesting in the photos. In the photos of Gabe, I thought it would be more interesting to create a strip of all the ones I took of him to create a type of series.
I liked the two of Jae Suk and Kailey because they are looking away from the camera. I also had a couple pictures of Gabe in the rule of thirds. I liked Kat and Jae Suk's pictures in black and white better than in color, and the one of kat sticking her hand up almost frames her face between her fingers.

TRUST
My photography assignment this week was to pick a Bible verse, and then pick a word out of the verse that sticks out to you or the feeling you have when you read the verse. We were to take photos of each letter and put it all together in photoshop! I decided to pick one of my life verses, and use the word TRUST.

IMA FIELD TRIP PHOTOS!
This photo is a photo of a beautiful pink flower I saw! I was walking on the path, and there was a random pink flower on the side of the path. I had to take a picture of it! I love the shade of vibrant pink! This photo is also in the rule of thirds. |
In this photo, Hannah is walking down the path. I love all the white that contrasts with her plaid blue and white jacket! I think this photo looks really graceful because of Hannah walking. It also looks like she's alone because she is walking in this big hall alone. When I first saw this photo, I saw all the composition that was in it. The first thing that caught my eye was the feeling in the photo. Like I said before, she looks graceful, but alone. I took this photo at around 12:30. The weather was great, and I think it looks very comfortable in the picture. Another one of my favorite things from this photo is the natural lighting coming in from the left. It really brings out the white on the pillars. The composition in this photo is repetition, because of the lights, pillars, plants, and leaves in the hall! There is also leading lines. The path leads straight to Hannah and out. The lights and walls lead with the path toward her too. This is also framing because the whole hall is framing Hannah as she is walking. |
This is a picture of a wall of fenced in rocks that leads to a tunnel up to a grass landing. I took this picture on the side of the wall. This photo is leading lines because of the lines leading to the tunnel. It has repetition from the rocks caged in. |
This photo is a bridge with a pretty path leading under with the leaves around it. I love the repetition of the leaves, the leading line of the path, and the framing from the bridge! The color of the leaves is my favorite. |

Backlighting
In this photo to the left, it's a photo of a leaf! I like it because it looks like it is falling! I actually picked it up and held it in front of the sun. This image is a backlighting photo because the sun is behind lighting the main subject of the leaf! I love the sharpness of the leaf.
This photo (on the bottom) is the lake condo my family and the Godbey's went to stay at over Fall Break. You can see the light shining really brightly on the tree and condo! I like how you can barely see the pretty colors of the leaves on the top of the tree, while the sun is shining on them. You can also see the condo to the right and the clouds in the beautiful blue sky!
I took this photo around 11:30! When I took this picture I was walking out to the dock and I saw the sun shining vibrantly in front of me, then I remembered my backlighting assignment so I turned around and I saw how the condo was dark because the sun was shining behind it, so I walked down a little more so I could get the tree and condo in it together! The first thing that caught my eye was the different variations of color in the dark part of the picture, like the color of the leaves, and the grass on the hill at the bottom!
This picture is a backlighting photo because the sun is shining behind the subject (making the subject darker). This image is also a Rule of Thirds Photo because the focus is not in the center of the picture.
This photo to the left is of my little brother Bryce. We were outside playing, when I had the idea of taking a picture of backlighting with him! So i told him to lay down on the grass, and the sun was shining behind him making Bryce darker. Then he put his hands on his face and made a cheesy face without me even telling him!! :)

Stop Motion Photography!
In this image, I had someone squeeze the Capri Sun pouch. The juice is coming out, and you can see it at the top, so it is stop motion photography. I think the colors of the pouch are really pretty. I like how it is also rule of thirds as well because the main focus is over to the left, instead of in the center. You can see the droplets on the Capri Sun too.
Stop Motion Photography!
This picture is the flag on south campus. It is blowing in the wind! I thought the red, white, and blue was really vibrant in this photo, especially with the blue sky in the background. You can see the folds in the flag, and you can tell that it is about to blow in the opposite direction!
When I look back at this photo now, I think of how pretty the flag looked blowing in the wind, and how beautiful the sky looked that day. It felt perfect that day, and when I saw the flag blowing I thought it would capture the moment of serenity. I was on the soccer field trying to think of a creative idea to take a picture of! I saw the flag, and it was blowing wildly in the wind. I thought it would be cool if I got a snapshot of it with the folds in the flag, showing the action. I got down low at a more interesting angle and took the picture!
The composition elements in this photo are Action! The flag is frozen in it's place. It is also Rule of Thirds because the flag is over to the right instead of focused in the center! This photo is somewhat Leading Lines and Repetition because of the pole leading up to the flag, and the repetition of the stars and stripes, but those composition elements are not very strong.

Stop Motion Photography!
In this image, my friends Jalen and Gabe are jumping over four trash cans! I had this idea when I saw a few trash cans outside on the soccer field, and I asked Gabe to jump over them and Jalen just jumped in and started doing it with him. I started out taking pictures from the back, but I decided to take the pictures from the front. And I'm sitting on the ground looking up at them, so it is more of an interesting angle.
I chose this picture for the Stop Motion assignment because I liked how they look almost frozen in the air. The first thing that caught my eye was how cool they looked in the air. Gabe is doing a karate kick and Jalen is jumping over with his two feet high in the air! When I took this image, I wanted to show how much fun they were having. We were taking pictures outside in photography class, and we were having a good time! So when I asked them to jump over the trash cans, I wanted to capture the enjoyment of the class we were having. They had to jump over them quite a few times, beceause I wanted to get them in the air perfectly! I think they were getting tired, and you can see how determined they looked in their faces!:)
This photo is a Stop Motion in the air because it is literally stopping their motion! They are in the air, and there is no blur in the picture! It also shows Worm's Eye View because the camera is looking up at them, just like a worm would! It also has a Leading Line in it! There are 4 gray trash cans in it in a row, causing a line! So, as I said, this photo not only meets the Stop Motion Photography assignment this week, but also has the composition elements: Worm's Eye View and Leading Lines! :D

Stop Motion Photography!
In this image, the faucet was dripping. When I heard about our assignment this week I always thought it would be cool to take a picture of water stopped in it's motion! So, I went into my parents bathroom, and turned the faucet on to a drip. I started taking shots with the fast shutter speed. It was hard to capture the drip, but I eventually got a few pictures with the water dripping. I cropped it to where it was rule of thirds and the focus wasn't on the towel in the background as much. I like how the focus is on the faucet and not the clock and towel in the background!

Repetition
While we were outside taking pictures, we went to the playground first. The first thing I noticed was the swings. I like how there were four of them right in a line, which makes it repitition! I took a few pictures of them at different angles. I liked this angle the best. I cropped it to where the school wasn't it too much of the picture, so the swings were the main focus!!
Repetition
We were taking pictures by the pond for photography class. I looked in the pond and saw some acorns in it, and they were close together! I realized it fell under repitition because there were three acorns like one was repeating itself. I like how they were almost half way sunk down. I took the picture, and increased the blue in the pond in photoshop. I thought it turned out looking pretty nice.

This picture is another example of framing. I was walking down the path back to the building, because it was time to go to my next class. So, when I was walking, I saw these trees, and I thought they framed the lake, so I took the picture! And my teacher said it did fall under framing! I really like the colors and the reflection on the lake. :)
Framing
In this image three children are smiling with their arms around each other. The five year old boy is in the middle (Bryce), with two three year old girls on the outside (Rachel and Jenna). There's a pair of hands in front of the lens forming a heart. The heart forms around the toddlers! I enjoy this picture a lot because of the very bright colors in it!
When I took this photo it was on Labor Day at my grandma's house. All of my cousins were over and we were having a great time! When I took the image, I wanted it to portray the fun we were having and what good friends the three kids are! When I look back at this picture, I think of how much enjoyment they were having that day, and what an adorable group of friends they are!
This picture includes framing because the hands are forming a heart around the kids, like a frame! The hands make it much more fascinating because of the heart. If I just took a photo of the kids...it would not be half as interesting. I think the heart also increases the show of love between the kids!

Worm's and Bird's Eye View
This is a bird's eye view, because it looks like a bird could have flown over and this would have been it's view!! This is my feet, and my class went out into the woods, and we got on top of a 10 foot wall and I looked down and my feet were in the picture, and so I took the photo!
